To fully understand how the overall proposed DASB budget has changed over the last four weeks, I decided to create a list of all account whose funding has increased or decreased and analyze it. Here is the list:

-$150 DASB President
-$100 DASB EVP
-$100 VP of Admin
-$100 VP of Finance
-$100 VP of Marketing
-$100 VP of Diversity and Events
-$100 VP of SRCR
-$100 VP of Student Services
-$100 VP of ES
-$300 DASB Hospitality
$1,000 Student Services Committee
-$720 DASB Telephone
$411 Special Alloc. Summer/Fall
$409 Special Alloc. Winter/Spring
$500 ICC
$7,000 Honors Program
$1,800 Math Performance Success
$12,650 Tutorial and Academic Skills Center
-$3,300 Women's Chorus
$500 Men's Soccer
$500 Women's Badminton
$500 Women's Soccer

The net increases/decreases in the list adds up to $20,000 which makes sense because we increased our projected revenue by $20,000.

Now, let's analyze these numbers. Since Women's Chorus got canceled we had $3,300 in our pot to reallocate. Add to that the $20,000 from our increase in projected revenue and we have a pot of $23,300 to reallocate. Let's find out where we put this $23,300.

The total cuts to DASB accounts add up to -$1,970
The total increases to DASB accounts add up to $1,000
The net change to all DASB accounts is -$970 (notice the negative sign)

The total cuts to all programs add up to $0
The total increases to all programs add up to $23,450
The net change to all program accounts is $23,450

The net change to special allocations is $820

-$970 + $23,450 + $820 = $23,300

So, overall, we cuts the DASB accounts by $970, we increased the funding for programs by a total of $23,450 and we increased special allocations by $820. If you don't consider the $1,000 increase to Student Services Committee, the DASB accounts were actually cut by a total of $1,970.

Now my question is this: To those of you who say the DASB senate is selfish for using the additional money to fund their DASB accounts, how did you arrive to such a conclusion? and what data did you use in your thought process? because all the data I have indicates that the opposite of your claim is what is true. The DASB DID NOT increase the funding for their accounts. Please take enough time to analyze the overall picture and do not draw conclusion from incomplete data.
