The elections committee is putting together a list of questions that will be directed to the candidates during the "Meet the Candidates" event. We are taking suggestions for questions from any candidate or student. Please submit your suggested questions by replying to this thread. No other form of submission will be accepted.

Eight questions that all students will want to ask...
(All candidates) (1) What position are you running for? Why do you feel it is important for you to hold that position? (2) If you had One Million dollars to spend on education, what would you spend it on besides professors and courses? (3) Before now, in what ways have you been active at De Azna College? Do any of those activities benefit other students, and if so then how? (4) What are the influences in your life and how do they contribute to your success?
(Senators: As a Senator, it is your responsibility to participate in discussions and to vote as a representative of your fellow students.) (1) What committees do you intend to join and why? (2) How will you approach an issue that is unpopular but must be done? (3) How do you intend to represent the students beyond voting at Senate meetings? (4) What do you hope to accomplish as a member of the student government? Why is that important to you?
(Executives: As an executive, it is your responsibility to facilitate meetings, encourage discussions, and to introduce agenda items to the Senate; all in addition to representing your fellow students.) (1) How do you intend to lead Senators to fully represent their fellow students? (2) How will you approach an issue that you personally oppose but is currently ready for discussion? In what ways will you ensure that your bias will not interfere? (3) What are your goals for the student government? Why are those goals important? (4) Why are you running as an executive candidate instead of as a Senator when both positions represent students? How will you serve students better as an executive than you would have as a Senator?

Wayne's question suggestions look pretty descent and usable. I was jotting down several questions towards President and EVP; however, they seem to have a resemblance with the questions above.

1.There is a big problem with our budget, as you know education is being cut right before our eyes, what will you do to keep the students informed and updated on De Anza College's Budget and what exactly will you do to help repair the budget? 2.What can you do to help support every student weather they are undocumented or undocumented students,in getting equal and fair resources to allow them to continue their education and be apart of the student body at De Anza.
